For This He Came

Within a tearful eye, two moments separated by a lifetime become one. In the foreground rests the infant Jesus, peacefully wrapped and lying beneath a quiet light. Behind Him, Calvary rises in the distance, where the child born in Bethlehem would one day give His life upon the cross.

Painted entirely in grayscale, For This He Came brings Christ's birth and sacrifice together in a single reflection. The innocence of the sleeping child contrasts with the solemn scene awaiting Him, while light surrounding the cross connects the beginning of His mortal life with its ultimate purpose.

The single tear carries both sorrow and gratitude—sorrow for what He would endure, and gratitude for the love that brought Him into the world.

For This He Came is a reflection on the extraordinary journey from Bethlehem to Calvary and the Savior whose story began in a manger, but whose mission was always one of love, sacrifice, and redemption.
